Intro to Print - Diptych of Opposites

The goal for this project was to create two, carved linoleum matrixes that are “opposites” — one image rendered in positive and the other image rendered in negative. Students were also required to come up with ideas, subjects, contexts that are "opposite" or in contrast. By treating the two linoleum matrixes as a diptych, students worked through the image-making process by both contrasting and balancing mark-making, contrast, composition, ideas, and context.
